Burlington, IA- The Burlington Police Department has announced the arrest of a man for 3rd-degree burglary.
According to a news release, at about 1 PM Wednesday, August 28th, Officers responded to the area of the 100 block of Melrose Court regarding a possible burglary.
When officers arrived on the scene, they were advised the suspects fled on foot and were provided a general area of where they fled to.
Upon further investigation, officers learned the identity of one of the suspects to be Nicholas Smith.
The Burlington Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division obtained a search warrant and located multiple stolen items inside Smith’s residence and a vehicle that matched the missing items from the location off Melrose Court.
Smith was arrested and charged with 3rd Degree Burglary.
