Des Moines County Sheriff: man arrested for 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse

Mediapolis, IA-  The Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a man for 3rd Degree Sexual abuse.

According to a news release, on Sunday, September 8th, Des Moines County Deputies responded to Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center for a reported sexual assault.

Upon arrival, deputies made contact with an adult female who said that she was sexually assaulted earlier that same morning in Mediapolis.

Based on the victim’s statement, a search warrant was executed at 127 Maple Drive in Mediapolis.  Items located at the residence confirmed that the victim had been present at the address.

The suspect, identified as 45-year-old Thomas Scot Armstrong was home upon deputies’ arrival during the execution of a search warrant and refused to speak to deputies about the alleged incident.

Armstrong was arrested for Sex Abuse in the 3rd Degree.
