Galesburg, Ill.- The Knox County, Illinois Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a man on multiple charges after he attempted to meet up with a 15-year-old.
According to a news release, 32-year-old Kevin Cooper of Havana Illinois was arrested Tuesday, September 24th.
Knox County Sheriff’s Office investigators had gained information that Cooper was communicating with a 15-year-old minor and had traveled to Galesburg to have sexual intercourse with the minor and bring the minor marijuana.
Knox County Detectives intercepted Cooper after he rented a hotel room and was enroute to pick up the minor.
Cooper was arrested and booked into the Knox County Jail.
Cooper was charged with Solicitation to Meet a Child, Traveling to Meet a Child, Indecent Solicitation of a Child, Grooming, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, and No Valid Driver’s License.
