Great River Health introduces new patient notification system

West Burlington, IA-  Great River Health is offering a new, secure, patient appointment notification system that allows patients the option to complete their registration and intake paperwork digitally.

According to a news release, patients will receive a text or email asking them to confirm or cancel their appointments, as well as complete their registration tasks, upload insurance cards, and make payments.

Messages will be sent starting three days before the scheduled appointment and will come 75442 for text messages, or from noreply@checkin.greatriverhealth.org for email notifications.

Patients will have options for check in, they can either complete it digitally in advance of their appointment or in person.

By digitally completing the check-in process, patients have control over the accuracy of their information and can complete necessary forms in the privacy of their own homes.

The first clinics to offer this will be Family Medicine, Mercy- Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center, West Burlington, Family Medicine- Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center, Fort Madison; and Orthopedics-Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center, West Burlington and Fort Madison.

Patients with appointments on October 2, 2024, will be the first to be notified via text or email.

“We are really excited to be able to offer this option to patients who prefer to complete the registration process at their convenience and in the privacy of their own homes.” expressed Hannah O’Brien, Great River Health Director of Patient Access. “We feel this provides a secure, comprehensive platform that will support our patients’ needs.”

Great River Health will eventually roll this new system out for all Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center and Henry County Health Center clinics.
