Starr’s Cave Fall Color Hike

Burlington, IA-  Des Moines County Conservation is inviting residents to join them for the Starr’s Cave Fall Color Hike.

According to a news release, the hike will take place on Thursday, October 17th from 6 to 7 PM.

This free, expert-led tour, is guided by DNR Forrester Lisa Louck, who will share her insights on various tree species, the science behind seasonal color changes, and more, allowing participants to engage and ask questions throughout the hike.

Two more fall color hikes will be held on October 24th and 29th, where the group will embark on a scenic trek of up to three miles, offering a fantastic opportunity to connect with nature and expand their knowledge.

Attendees are encouraged to bring essentials such as water, bug spray, weather-appropriate clothing, sunglasses, and a camera.

In case of inclement weather, the event will be canceled, and registration is required.
