Burlington, IA- The Burlington School Board on Monday, October 28th, accepted a $7,000 donation from the Greater Burlington Partnership to go toward outdoor education.
According to a news release, the donation was inspired by the 51st RAGBRAI, and the role Maintenance Supervisor Brent Krieger and his staff played in helping to organize parking at Edward Stone Middle School.
“What helped us out immensely was the use of the parking lot at Edward Stone Middle School, and really the work of Brent Krieger and his staff, who were immensely helpful in coordinating that,” Chris Gram, executive director of the Convention & Visitors Bureau, said.
The money will go toward expanding outdoor physical education opportunities, such as bicycling and kayaking, for Burlington students.
