Residents of the Burlington Apartments at 206 N. 3rd Street could face eviction if fire safety issues, including faulty sprinkler systems and alarms, are not addressed by Christmas Eve. The City of Burlington sent a letter to Millennia Housing Management Ltd., which oversees the property, citing unresolved violations dating back to 2021.
The city requires proof of contracted repairs and a timeline for completion within 90 days. Management claims to be working with a contractor but has not provided confirmation. If no action is taken, the city plans to pursue a court order to ensure compliance.
A meeting to inform residents of the situation was held on Tuesday, with notices also delivered to each unit.
