The Burlington Police Department has identified the victim of the Christmas Day shooting as Anthony DeCarlo Campbell, 44, of Burlington. Police arrested Eric Christopher Rios, 46, of Burlington, for first-degree murder. He is being held without bond pending a court appearance.
The shooting occurred around 7:35 p.m. in the 1800 block of Madison Avenue. Authorities pronounced Campbell deceased at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation assisting.
