10 Dead, 35 Injured in Suspected Terrorist Attack in New Orleans

A driver intentionally rammed a vehicle into a crowd celebrating New Year’s Day in New Orleans’ French Quarter, killing 10 and injuring 35. The attack, described as an act of terrorism, occurred early Wednesday along Bourbon Street.

After the vehicle stopped, the driver opened fire on police, injuring two officers before being fatally shot. Authorities are investigating the scene for potential explosive devices, with at least one suspected device under review.

New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell called it a “terrorist attack,” while Police Commissioner Anne Kirkpatrick confirmed the driver’s actions were deliberate. The attack’s motivations are under investigation.
