The trial date has been scheduled for Eric Rios, 46, accused of killing Burlington resident Anthony “D.J. Ant Bomb” Campbell on Christmas night. Rios has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder, with a pretrial conference set for May 12 and a jury trial scheduled for June 3 at the Des Moines County Courthouse.

Police say Campbell was shot after answering a knock at his back door. Security footage placed Rios’ vehicle at the scene, and Campbell’s girlfriend—Rios’ ex-wife—told police the two had an ongoing custody dispute.

Campbell, a father of six, was a well-known DJ, musician, promoter, and youth mentor. His funeral at Burlington Memorial Auditorium drew nearly 1,000 attendees, and he was laid to rest in his hometown of Louisiana, Missouri.
