Lee County supervisors have approved $70,333 in opioid settlement funds for Alcohol and Drug Dependency Services of Southeast Iowa. The money will fund a prevention specialist who provides drug education to Lee County residents, including classroom programs for elementary and high school students.
The position was previously funded through a state ARPA grant set to expire June 30. ADDS plans to expand outreach to all high school students in the county. Officials said the funding ensures continued drug education through programs like “Too Good for Drugs” and allows ADDS to broaden its reach at a time when prevention efforts remain critical.
