The Fort Madison Community School District’s search for a new superintendent is progressing, with 16 candidates applying for the role, including four from out of state. Consultant Shannon Bisgard of Grundmeyer Leader Services told the school board that a recent community survey drew over 200 responses, highlighting a preference for an approachable and supportive leader.
The applicant pool includes candidates from Iowa, Arizona, Minnesota, and South Dakota, with varied levels of experience and education. Semi-finalist interviews will be held virtually on April 22, and finalists will visit Fort Madison for in-person interviews and community engagement on April 30. The board says it is committed to a thorough and inclusive selection process.
