A Burlington man has been sentenced to up to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to sending explicit messages and images to what he believed were underage girls in Des Moines and Johnson counties. Marc Andrew Moehn, 28, was caught in separate investigations, including one involving an undercover detective posing as a 14-year-old. He was convicted of grooming and dissemination of obscene material to a minor and must register as a sex offender.
He was ordered to pay over $2,500 total in fines, fees, and penalties, in addition to submitting DNA for profiling and being barred from firearm ownership. Moehn received a second sentence of two years in Johnson County, which will be served concurrently with his Des Moines County conviction.
