
A Burlington man has been sentenced to up to 10 years in prison for a 2022 shooting and is now awaiting trial for a separate 2023 incident that left one man dead and another injured. Shermando Harper, 18, admitted to shooting two people in October 2022 and fled the area before sentencing. He was later arrested and is currently jailed on a $1 million bond. In the 2023 case, Harper is charged with murder and attempted murder after allegedly shooting Alondro Pratt and Richard Jackson following a family dispute. His jury trial in the homicide case is scheduled to begin May 6.
