The City of Fort Madison will hold a public reception next Wednesday to welcome incoming Fire Chief Chad Hannum. The event runs from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 811 Avenue E. Mayor Matt Mohrfeld will officially swear Hannum into his new role during the reception. Hannum has served with the Fort Madison Fire Department since 2008 and was promoted to lieutenant in 2017. City officials say his leadership comes at a key time as the department prepares for the construction of a new fire station and continues advancing fire safety and emergency services.
