President Donald Trump will mark both the Army’s 250th anniversary and his 79th birthday Saturday with a large military parade in Washington, D.C. Around 7,000 service members will march along Constitution Avenue, joined by tanks, helicopters, and other military hardware. Trump, who will watch from a stand near the White House, calls the event a tribute to national strength and service.

In response, more than 1,800 “No Kings” demonstrations are planned across all 50 states. Led by the progressive group Indivisible, the protests aim to counter what organizers view as a politicized show of force centered on Trump. Critics have likened the parade’s tone to authoritarian displays in countries like Russia and North Korea.

Demonstrations are expected in each congressional district, with events spanning all 50 states. Trump has said protesters in D.C. will be met with “very big force,” and federal agencies have prepared for tight security.
