A Keokuk father and son have been sentenced to federal prison for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine across several Iowa cities. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Ronald Dickey Mason, 75, and Ronald Kieth Mason, 43, trafficked large quantities of meth between April and July 2024 in Keokuk, Burlington, Riverside, Des Moines, and Cedar Rapids.
Authorities found 28 pounds of meth and a firearm in the elder Mason’s vehicle during a traffic stop last July. Both men pleaded guilty to drug charges earlier this year. Ronald Dickey Mason was also convicted of carrying a firearm during a drug trafficking crime.
He was sentenced to 22 years in prison, while his son received a 20-year sentence. Both will serve five years of supervised release, and neither is eligible for parole under the federal system.
