U.S. Army veteran William A. Scott of Fort Madison has been named the 2025 recipient of a tiny home through Iowa 2x4s for Hope. The nonprofit, which builds housing for veterans in need, will begin construction on the home on August 2 with help from volunteers and community members.
Scott served from 1971 to 1973 as a radio operator before working for over 20 years as a barber in Fort Madison.
The property for the build was donated by the Speers Family of West Point. Organizers say the project is meant to honor Scott’s military service and continued commitment to the community.
