Ameren customers in Illinois may be eligible for a one-time $150 grant to help with overdue energy bills, thanks to new funding distributed through local LIHEAP agencies. The assistance is aimed at residents facing rising electricity costs, especially during this summer’s high heat and increased usage. So far this year, Ameren Illinois has delivered nearly $58 million in utility aid and is adding another $4 million to help struggling households.
Income-qualified residents are encouraged to act quickly before funds run out. Applications are available by calling 833-711-0374 or visiting HelpIllinoisFamilies.com. Additional energy efficiency programs and long-term bill relief options are also available through AmerenIllinois.com/PathToSavings.
Ameren Missouri is offering similar aid and has partnered with groups like NECAC and United Way to distribute funds. Missouri residents should contact their local agencies or visit AmerenMissouri.com/EnergyAssistance for more information.
