Elite Casino Resorts is acquiring Catfish Bend Casino and FunCity Resort in Burlington, bringing the property back under Iowa ownership. CEO Dan Kehl called the deal a homecoming, pointing to his family’s early role in launching riverboat gaming in Southeast Iowa during the 1990s. The company says every current employee will stay on, with expanded training programs and opportunities for advancement. Officials also plan to invest in upgrades that will boost tourism and keep more entertainment dollars in the region. With over 1,200 Iowa stakeholders, many from Burlington and Fort Madison, Elite says this acquisition shows a long-term commitment to the local economy and workforce. Catfish Bend and FunCity will continue to operate their gaming floor, water park, sports and event facilities, and hotel amenities while plans for future growth continue to take shape.
