Starting Thursday, crews will begin work in West Burlington to implement a permanent right-turn-only restriction at Walmart’s east entrance on Agency Road. Drivers exiting the lot will no longer be able to turn left or go straight across Agency, and eastbound traffic on Agency will no longer be allowed to turn left into the entrance.
The same restriction will apply to the nearby shopping center exit at 411 W Agency Road. Vehicles leaving that lot must also turn right onto Agency.
Officials say the change addresses a longstanding safety concern at the busy intersection, citing frequent congestion, limited visibility, and a history of near-miss incidents and collisions. Drivers are asked to watch for posted signs and plan alternate routes as needed.
