Joyce Elaine Bauer Gilleard, 85, of New London, Iowa, died Thursday, October 9, 2025 at New London Specialty Care. She was born September 10, 1940 in Burlington to Arthur Emil and Dorothy Aretha Judd Bauer. She married Gale Gilleard in 1959; they later divorced.
Joyce graduated from Danville High School and was a supervisor at the IAAP in Middletown for many years. She was of the Christian faith and a member of the New London Women’s Club and New London Women’s Bowling League. She enjoyed puzzles, playing rummy with her sisters, reading, and drinking tea and eating peach rings.
She is survived by two daughters; Terry (Jeff) Johnson and Wendy (Lonnie) Jones both of New London; three grandchildren, Whitney Greenleaf, Lance Jones, and Eli Johnson; six great-grandchildren, Lana, Jocelyn, Beckham, Cash, Liam, and Lydia; several nieces and nephews; and her loving companion, Max Kirkpatrick of New London.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene Bauer and Ralph Calhoun; and three sisters, Evelyn Sines, Linda Allen, and Lois Mohnike.
A private family burial next to her beloved father was held at Burge Cemetery. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Born July 3, 1936, in New London, Iowa, she was the daughter of Fredrick Donald and Minnie Rebecca Ruby Dietsch. On July 10, 1954, she married Louie Burdette Parker. He died December 31, 2008.
She graduated from Harmony High School in Bonaparte.
Margaret worked for Fruehauf Inc. in Montrose for many years until her retirement.
She attended Bethany Lutheran Church. Margaret enjoyed sewing, tending to her flower gardens, feeding the birds and loved animals, caring for many strays. She loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Tim (Sue) Parker of Fort Madison, Trudy (Larry Jr.) Wright of Fort Madison, and Twila (Larry) Nall of Bolingbrook, IA; six grandchildren, David, Jeannie, Lawrence, Trinity, Ken, and Nikki; nine great-grandchildren, Jade, Jinta, Declan, Eli, Noah, Ava. Finnley, Odin and Ember and significant other, Larry Olsen of West Burlington.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Paul and Donald Dietsch, and sister, Edith Jenkins.

Born March 11, 1976, in Monmouth, IL, he was the son of Mark Eugene and Deborah Lynn Remick Bowman. On August 21, 1994, he married Alicia Dawn Byers at Crapo Park in Burlington, IA.
He graduated from Burlington High School in 1994.
Terry worked as a cable and broadband installer for 13 years. He also worked as a mechanic with his father at Bowman’s Automotive.
Terry enjoyed playing golf, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and boating. He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR and was a member of Abate 18 club. He was an excellent cook and had mastered the art of BBQ. He was a standup guy with a huge heart. He had a wonderful, deep voice that could soothe even the fussiest of babies. He was an excellent storyteller and enjoyed talking to everyone. The most important thing to him was family. He was a wonderful husband. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews and he held a special place in his heart for his dog, Thor.
Survivors include his father, Mark Eugene (Kelly) Bowman, Sr. of Burlington; wife, Alicia Dawn Garmoe of Burlington; four daughters, Samantha (Deonte) Thompson of Davenport, Winter Garmoe of Las Vegas, NV, Sierra Garmoe and Kylie Garmoe both of Burlington; son-in-law, Will Hill of Fort Madison; eight grandchildren, Michael, Selena, Hunter, Isabella, Jaxon, Logan, Luke, and Everly; three brothers, Mark (Jo) Bowman, Jr. of Burlington, Clyde Farmer of Tipton, and Phillip Cox of Burlington; four step-brothers, Alan “Mikey” (Krystal) Stevenson, Jessie Stevenson both of Burlington, Jamie Stevenson of Carman, IL, and Drayton Stevenson Bowman of Burlington; many loved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandma, Pat; his mother, Deborah; daughter, Terry “Tara” Hill; step brother, Joshua Stevenson; step-sister, Kelli Stevenson; and aunt, Dawn McDowell.

Alta Louise Garrels Dockendorff, 102, of Omaha, Nebraska, and formally of Danville, died on October 6, 2025, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. She was born September 11, 1923, in rural Mt. Pleasant, to Roy and Edna Scarf Garrels. On June 2, 1943, she married Glenn Edward Dockendorff at the Mt. Union Methodist Church, and he died February 22, 2018.
Mrs. Dockendorff was a 1941 graduate of Yarmouth High School and then worked at the New London Creamery. Initially, when Glenn joined the army, Alta joined him in Paris, Texas, where he trained, and she worked in the laundry on the base. Once Glenn was shipped overseas, Alta worked for the Glove Factory in New London. Later, she worked as a homemaker; worked as a drug picker at McKesson Robbins; was employed at the Farm Service Elevator in Danville; and kept the books for Glenn’s Stanley Steemer business. She was a member of the Danville United Methodist Church. After her husband’s death, she moved to assisted living in Omaha, Nebraska.
She is survived by two daughters; Peggy (Charles) Overley of Omaha, Nebraska, and Kay (David) Wulf of Tulsa Oklahoma; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Ellen Runnells; two brothers, Roger and Ronald Garrels; and two sisters, Erma Mertens and Blanch Allen.
The funeral service for Alta Louise Dockendorff will be October 20, 2:00pm at Danville United Methodist Church with Jacob Yocum officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Jaggar Cemetery, Danville, immediately following the service.

Born November 9, 1934, at home in Henderson County, IL, she was the daughter of Rex and Esther Lachmann Mynatt. On February 21, 1953, she married Orren William Clark at Ft. Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on February 2, 2020.
She graduated from Stronghurst High School with the class of 1952. Charlene worked in inspection at Champion Spark Plug for 30 years.
Charlene enjoyed gardening, reading, fishing and playing cards. She was a frequent shopper at garage sales and resale shops. She loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids.
Survivors include her son, William “Bill” Clark of Burlington; daughter, Vicki (Robert) Dunlap of Woodhaven, MI; three brothers, Richard “Sonny” (Betty) Mynatt of Denmark, IA, Keith Mynatt of Laguna Vista, TX, and Larry (Karen) Mynatt of La Harpe, IL; one sister, Carolyn “Babe” Bez of Fort Myers, FL; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one daughter, Renee Sandy; one brother, Rex A. Mynatt; and one grandson, Garrett Sandy.

Born July 19, 1946, in Burlington, he was the son of George Wendell and Ellen Elizabeth Bliss Kracht. On April 25, 1969 he was married to Laura McNeill and they later divorced.
He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, serving as an aviation fuel specialist during the Vietnam War from June 9, 1964 until June 7, 1968. Robert was a janitor for Danville Schools.
Robert loved being outdoors and always enjoyed hunting and fishing. His most cherished memories though. were any time he was able to spend with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne Kracht of Fort Madison and Billy (Carrie) Kracht of Cassville, MO; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and brother, Ken (Dianne) Kracht of New London.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his ex-wife, Laura.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

David Marlette, 73, of Wapello passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Wapello Specialty Care. David R. Marlette was born on December 18, 1951, in Burlington, the son of Donald Marlette and Gladys (Waterhouse) Marlette. David was a 1970 graduate of Wapello High School and went on to attend Southeastern Community College. On July 21, 1974, David was united in marriage to Marcia Matthews at the Wapello Methodist Church. David worked for 35 years as a mechanical designer for General Electric following his retirement for General Electric, David went on to work as a parts consultant for Parts Supercenter for 12 years. He was a past member of Indian Hills Country Club, the Wapello Library Board, and president of Wapello Youth League. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and boating. Above everything David was most proud of his family and never missed an opportunity to follow his children and grandchildren in their many activities.
David will be deeply missed by his wife, Marcia of Wapello; daughter, Krista Marlette of Wapello; son Kenny (Jodie) Marlette of Wapello; grandchildren, Katelyn Yeakey, Kiley Yeakey, Wyatt Marlette, Kody Marlette, Noah Vogel and Cooper Marlette; his mother, Gladys Robertson of Wapello and siblings, Dennis (Norma) Marlette of Missouri and Teresa (Ernie) Taylor of Burlington
David was preceded in death by his father; brother, Duane Marlette and in-laws, Burt and Margery Matthews.
Born February 27, 1933, in Decorah, IA, he was the son of Carl and Selma Fadness Sanderson. On January 24, 1953, he married Norma Rose Solomon in DeKalb, IL.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran, stationed in Germany during the Korean War from March 25, 1953 until April 8, 1961.
Norton retired from The King’s Electric after many years working as an electricians.
He was a hard worker and could always be found tinkering in his garage.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Sanderson of Burlington; four daughters, Lily (Greg) Tayson of Burlington, Susan (Tom) Magnuson of Colorado Springs, CO, Michelle (Gary) Ryan of Boerne, TX, and Lisa (Chet Casey) Schwartz of Tulsa, OK; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings, Eugene Sanderson, Alvin Sanderson, Esther Lehman, Gladys Burrdick, Florence Olson, Stella Ashpole, Ellen Simons, Ida Gross, and Norma Cardinali, his twin sister.
