Iowa DNR issues drought watch

Dry conditions in the fall that canceled out the rainy July are causing the state to issue a drought watch for parts of Iowa.  The DNR is placing extreme northwest  Iowa, and the entire eastern side of the state on drought watch.  The rest of the state is at normal for now.  The U.S. Drought Monitor shows moderate drought covers most of eastern Iowa.  The DNR says the long-term outlook raises the concern of drought persistence through February.
