A Mount Pleasant man with a history of arson was arrested over the weekend after police say he set his apartment on fire because he wanted to go back to prison. Eric Shroyer, 33, was arrested by the Mount Pleasant Police Department and charged with first-degree arson. Police say Shroyer admitted to pouring gasoline on his bed and couch before lighting it on fire with a BIC lighter.
