Mary Anna Larsen, 88, of New London, died Sunday, December 14, 2025, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born December 16, 1936, in New London, she was the daughter of Willis T and Mabel Celestine Sheppard Christe. On November 3, 1956, she married Rueben Johannas Larsen in Clovis, NM. He preceded her in death on October 25, 1994.
She attended Mount Union School. Mary worked as a Home Health Aide and a cook until she retired.
She was of the Methodist faith. Mary enjoyed traveling and was always looking for a good deal at yard sales and garage sales.
Survivors include her son, David Lee Larsen of Danville; one grandchild; three great-grandchildren; brother, Paul (Patricia) Chirste of Thayer, MO; two nieces and eight nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Ronnie, Larry and George Christe and two sisters., Betty Jane Christe and Phyllis Turnquist.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
The memorial service for Mary will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Keokuk National Cemetery.

John Daniel Levins Sr., 91, of Burlington, died Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the in Burlington.
Born April 12, 1934, in West Burlington, he was the son of Alvin Patrick and Emily Mary French Levins. In 1956, he married Betty M. Anderson. They later divorced.
He graduated from Burlington Catholic High School in 1952.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving during the Korean War from 1954 until 1956.
John worked 34.6 years as a machine operator for Champion Spark Plug retiring in 1992.
He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish.
Survivors include one son, John Daniel “Danny” Levins Jr. of Burlington; one daughter, Debora Patterson of Burlington; three brothers, Le Roy Levins of Burlington, Mark Levins of Quincy, IL, and Mike Levins of West Burlington; three sisters, Betty Frey of Decatur, IL, Paulette Nichols of Burlington, Rosemary Loper of West Burlington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Patrick, Artie, Donald, and Russell, four sisters, Norma Raschendorfer, Marilyn Weingart, Helen Rankin, Carol Phillips, one granddaughter, Sarah Patterson and one great-granddaughter, Sabrina Marie Martinez.
Family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM Monday, December 22, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection for John will be 10:00 AM Monday, December 22, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Fr. Jake Greiner as the Celebrant. Full military honors will be rendered by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry and Divine Mercy Parish.

Born November 19, 1995, in Burlington, he was the son of Michael and Christine Johnson Werner. On January 31, 2025, he married Emily Brooke Hansen in Burlington. He was a deeply devoted husband who loved sharing life’s spontaneous adventures with his wife, discovering new places and learning new things side by side.
He was a 2014 graduate of Burlington High School. Brett was a Mechanical Designer for Afinitas.
Brett loved Jesus and accepted Jesus as his savior at a young age. He continued to grow in his faith and loved serving the Lord. He regularly attended Harmony Bible Church.
One of Brett’s greatest joys was being outdoors-whether he was hunting at dawn, fishing a favorite stretch of water, or slowly walking fields and creek beds searching for artifacts. He was an avid shed hunter spending countless hours exploring back roads and open country, always hopeful for his next find. He also had a passion for raising his chickens and ducks. Brett also loved tending to his garden.
Survivors include his wife, Emily and their child, who they were eagerly awaiting, due on March 17, 2026; his parents, Christine and Michael Werner; brothers, Dustin (Shonda) Werner, T.J. (Danielle) Werner, Kyle (Sabrina) Werner, and John Werner all of Burlington; grandfather, Franklin Johnson; nieces and nephews; Jaxson, Maddox, Wade, Callen, Brooks, Cole, Dakota, Faron, and Chase Werner and Chance, Parker and Saylor Dorminey; brother-in-law, Dylan Cook of Georgia; sister-in-law, Amber (Brett) Dorminey of Georgia; and mother-in-law, Wendy Anderson of Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Betty Johnson, and paternal grandparents, Eugene, Jr. and Esther Werner.
Family will receive friends Thursday, December 18, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.
The funeral service for Mr. Werner will be 10:00 AM Friday, December 19, 2025, at Harmony Bible Church – Burlington Campus. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
