The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents not to trust those going door to door offering to do asphalt or driving work: they might just be scammers. The office writes in a Facebook post that they’ve received reports of people going door-to-door offering to do asphalt or driveway work, claiming they ‘just finished a job down the road’ and have leftover materials. Those offers officials say, are scams, and that any “work” done is with subpar materials they overcharge victims for. If you think you may be a target of one of these scams, you’re urged to contact police.
