The City of Burlington has secured $875,000 in grant funding to move forward with a planned expansion of its community trail system between Summer Street and Madison Avenue. Construction on the project is expected to take place in 2027.
This trail extension will build upon the Summer Street Reconstruction project, which is slated to begin in 2026. That earlier project will extend the current trail from Mason Road to the southern end of Summer Street near Koestner Street.
Once both projects are completed, they will form a continuous trail corridor connecting the existing trail network with Burlington’s park system.
