The Fort Madison Police Department is requesting assistance from the public in locating a missing teenager.
Marlia Jean Maciel, a 15-year-old girl, was reported as a runaway on September 24, 2025.
She is described as being 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing approximately 117 pounds, with brown eyes and short hair.
Authorities say Maciel is often seen wearing a hoodie along with pajama pants.
According to a post from the Fort Madison Police Department on Facebook, she is known to be active very late at night and sometimes goes by the name “Mars.”
Police reported that Maciel was last seen shortly after 8 a.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, traveling west away from the high school.
The Department of Human Services is also working with law enforcement in the search.
Officials warn that anyone who is knowingly sheltering or hiding Maciel could face criminal charges.
