The Keokuk Police Department has identified a woman found dead on a sidewalk in the 1300 block of South Seventh Street on Saturday morning.
Police Chief Zeth Baum identified the woman Monday as 35-year-old Danielle Renea Clark of Keokuk.
According to police, officers were dispatched to the area around 8:05 a.m. after receiving a report of an unresponsive woman lying on the sidewalk. They arrived about a minute later and found Clark on the ground with no signs of life.
Authorities reported there were no visible external injuries that appeared life-threatening.
Baum said the investigation remains ongoing and that criminal charges have not been ruled out. He added that more information will be available once autopsy results are completed.
