A school speed zone on Mason Road near Burlington’s Edward Stone Middle School will be removed today. The area will return to the regular 35 MPH speed limit. School Speed Zones on Willow Avenue and Sequoia Drive will stay in place. City Public Works Director Nick MacGregor told the Burlington City Council that after conferring with staff, police, and the school district, they determined there is no longer a need for the school zone in the area around Edward Stone Middle School due to the recent installation of new sidewalks and trails.
