Jurors got to hear from the final witnesses on Tuesday in the murder trial of a Burlington woman accused of stabbing her cousin to death last March at an apartment on Angular Street. Tisha Bounds, 50, is on trial for first-degree murder for the death of her cousin Derius Lashaun Moore, 33, of Chicago. The Hawk Eye reports that on Tuesday, jurors heard from the final witness for the prosecution, Dr. Dennis Klein, a forensic pathologist and the State’s Medical Examiner who performed the autopsy on Moore who confirmed the death was a homicide. Previous witnesses say the stabbing happened during a fight over housing. Defense attornies called two witnesses including Bounds’ sister, who testified regarding the housing dispute, and the property manager of the Angular Street apartment complex, who said that Bounds wasn’t supposed to be living at the address.
