Lee County Consolidated Dispatch (LeeComm) is reminding residents to report any controlled burns before lighting them.
Officials ask residents to call 319-372-1310 prior to starting a burn. Reporting planned fires helps prevent unnecessary emergency responses if smoke or flames are reported by others.
LeeComm also urges residents to stay aware of weather conditions — particularly wind speed and direction — and to check for any active burn bans before igniting a controlled burn.
