A bill making the rounds in the Illinois legislature would increase the frequency Amtrak trains would depart from stations across the state, including those in Macomb, Quincy, and Galesburg. The Passenger Rail Planning Act (H.B. 4279) calls for trains to leave from those stations every four hours.  The legislation does not include increased frequency for the California Zephyr route, or  Southwest Chief route which stops in Burlington, and Ft. Madison respectively.
