A group looking to reopen the Keokuk Area Hospital, which has been shuttered since 2022, gave an update on their progress to mayor Mark Smidt last week. The Daily Gate City reports that Insight Health Services is moving ahead with construction project planning for the hospital. They’ve also secured a $125,000 grant to help with the recruitment of an emergency room physician.
