The special election to fill the vacant Henry County Attorney position has been set for next month. Officials there announced Monday that the special election will be held March 31st to replace former County Attorney Darin Slater. Slater resigned earlier this month after a judge says he improperly placed the name of a Henry County Sheriff’s Deputy on the Brady-Giglio list, which tracks law enforcement who have a history of misconduct. Winfield attorney Becky Wilson announced her candidacy for the position in September of last year. Abbie Liechty, an assistant county attorney, is also in the running.
