The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is implementing new fitness standards for its staff.
Lee County Sheriff Elliott Vandenberg says in a press release that the standards will align with those required to get into the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy and that the assessment will be given annually.
Vandenberg calls it an investment into employee health and will improve safety.
