The Miami Dolphins have traded star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos in a significant deal that signals a continued reset in Miami and an aggressive push in Denver.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter: “Broncos are trading for Miami WR Jaylen Waddle, per source. Denver receives: Waddle and Dolphins’ 4th-round pick (11th in round) in this year’s draft. Miami receives: Broncos’ 1st round pick (30th overall) along with their late 3rd and 4th round picks (30th in each round) in this year’s draft.”

Under the reported agreement, Denver receives Waddle along with a 2026 fourth-round pick, while Miami gains a 2026 first-round selection (No. 30 overall), plus third- and fourth-round picks.

Waddle, 27, was originally selected sixth overall in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Alabama and quickly became a cornerstone of Miami’s offense. He opened his career with three straight 1,000-yard seasons and has totaled 373 receptions for 5,039 yards and 26 touchdowns. Last season, he recorded 910 yards and six scores while catching passes from Tua Tagovailoa and rookie Quinn Ewers.

Miami’s decision to move Waddle reflects a broader overhaul. The team has already parted ways with Tagovailoa — who later signed with the Atlanta Falcons — and made sweeping leadership changes, hiring Jeff Hafley as head coach and Jon-Eric Sullivan as general manager. They also added quarterback Malik Willis in free agency.

For the Broncos, the move adds a proven playmaker as they build around young quarterback Bo Nix. After a surprising 2025 season that ended in the AFC Championship Game, Denver is clearly aiming to take the next step, viewing Waddle as a key piece in a potential Super Bowl run. He joins a receiving group that already includes Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims Jr., and Troy Franklin.
