The Henry County Board of Supervisors is moving toward implementing a formal process and fee structure for public records requests.
The Hawk Eye reports that during a recent meeting, Supervisor Steve Detrick presented a proposed form that residents would be required to complete when submitting Freedom of Information Act requests.
The plan also outlines hourly costs to fulfill those requests, including $42 per hour for work by the county auditor and $45 per hour for both Information Technology staff and the County Attorney’s Office.
Detrick said the board has been discussing the policy since January and intends for the new cost structure to apply to requests submitted before formal approval.
The board is expected to take official action on the proposal at its March 26 meeting.
