The average price for a gallon of gas in Iowa fell 1.8 cents, now sitting at $3.32 per gallon. Despite the small weekly decrease, prices remain significantly higher—up 76.0 cents from a month ago and 30.7 cents higher than this time last year.
Diesel prices continue to surge, with the national average rising 27.0 cents in the past week to $5.227 per gallon—the highest level since November 2022.
GasBuddy reports show a wide range in prices across Iowa, with the cheapest station at $2.69 per gallon and the most expensive at $4.24, a difference of $1.55.
Meanwhile, the national average price of gasoline climbed 24.3 cents over the last week to $3.92 per gallon. That’s nearly a dollar higher than a month ago and 84.1 cents more than a year ago.
