The Central Lee Community School District is moving quickly in its search for a new superintendent, with three candidates already expressing interest just days after the position was posted.
Stephen Murley of McPherson & Jacobson told the school board the application window opened March 16 and will close April 24. The board aims to name a new superintendent by May 12. The process includes narrowing applicants to six semifinalists on April 28, selecting three finalists on May 5, and conducting in-person interviews May 8 before making a final decision.
Murley is currently working with staff and community members to develop a profile for the position, which is expected to be finalized and approved at the board’s April 14 meeting. Finalists’ names will be made public, though earlier stages of the process will remain closed to encourage a larger applicant pool.
