A burn ban is in place in Des Moines County today as the National Weather Service says there’s an elevated risk of fire.
The ban went into effect Saturday. Dry conditions mixed with high winds have led NWS officials to issue a hazardous weather outlook for all of Southeast Iowa, West-Central Illinois, and Northeast Missouri. There is a chance for thunderstorms tonight.
