A Burlington man is facing assault charges after Des Moines County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported domestic disturbance Sunday morning.
Authorities say a female victim reported being assaulted, suffering injuries to her arm, neck, and face. She also told deputies the suspect threatened to burn her home with her and her child inside and claimed he had a firearm.
The suspect was identified as 30-year-old Brett Alexander Young of Burlington. Deputies located and arrested Young on charges of domestic abuse assault (second offense), possession of a firearm by a felon, and first-degree harassment.
He was taken to the Des Moines County Correctional Center.
