A student at New London High School has been sent home indefinitely after admitting to writing a bomb threat Monday, according to school officials.
The threat was discovered in a note left on a classroom floor after students moved to another testing location. Officials said the group was kept in place while administrators and law enforcement assessed the situation, and the building was not evacuated because students were safely contained and supervised.
Within minutes, a student admitted to writing the note. Authorities detained, questioned, and searched the student before releasing them to be sent home pending further review.
Superintendent Chad Wahls said the district takes student safety seriously and credited staff, students, and law enforcement for responding quickly and effectively to the situation.
