An inmate at the Iowa State Penitentiary in Fort Madison was sentenced to an additional 50 years in prison after the attempted murder of two prison workers. WGEM-TV reports that on Wednesday, Anthony Sebastian Bauer, 23, was found guilty on two counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of contraband by a jury of his peers. Sentencing took place immediately after the verdict was read. He was sentenced to 50 years with a mandatory 35 years served before parole eligibility. This will be tacked on to his current sentence for murder in the 2nd degree that he was convicted of after shooting an 18-year-old on New Years Day in 2021.
