A 76-year-old Burlington man is facing charges after Des Moines County Sheriff’s deputies say he assaulted his wife at their home.
Deputies responded to the Green Acre Mobile Home Park Friday to a report of a woman screaming for help and found Terry Wayne Johnston getting shoved by a woman who was bleeding from her arms. Johnston told deputies he “poked” her with a key or pen and hit her in the face.
He’s been charged with domestic abuse assault causing injury and assault causing serious injury and taken to the Des Moines County Correctional Center.
