The last large group of Iowa National Guard soldiers who were part of a deployment of some 18-hundred to the Middle East will soon be home. Adjutant General Stephen Osborn is the leader of the Iowa Guard. “The last 200 of those arrived in Texas yesterday. They’ll be back in Iowa here in another seven to 10 days, and we look forward to that,” he says. Welcome home ceremonies are being planned and will be announced soon. Osborn says while most of the members of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division will be back home, there will still be soldiers on active duty.
