Mount Pleasant Armed Robbery

Mount Pleasant, Ia (The Hawk Eye) — The Mount Pleasant Police Department is seeking information about an armed robbery and vehicle theft that occurred early Friday at the Comfort Stay at 905 W. Washington St.

The Hawk eye reports that According to a press release issued Tuesday, officers were dispatched to room No. 42 at the motel shortly before 6 a.m. Friday in reference to an armed robbery and theft of a vehicle.

It was determined a man and woman armed with weapons entered the room and took the vehicle belonging to one of the room’s two occupants before leaving the scene.

The vehicle since has been located, as were two weapons matching the descriptions of the ones used in the robbery.

Persons of interest in the investigation are Kelsey Williams and De’Von Centrel Young, both of either Fairfield or Burlington; Shianne Timm and Devin Hager, whose addresses are unknown; and Megan French of Fairfield and Burlington.

The robbery was the second major incident to occur in a Mount Pleasant motel last week.

On Nov. 5, officers with the MPPD, Iowa Department of Transportation and Henry County Sheriff’s office responded to a report of a shooting at the Heidelberg Motel, 2005 E. Washington St.

45-year old David Stott later was arrested and charged with terrorism and first-degree burglary.
