Sara E. Sutcliffe Schwartz, 36, of Burlington, died Monday, April 6, 2020, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. She was able to give the gift of life through the Iowa Donor Network.
Born February 29, 1984, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Edward Sutcliffe and Vicki (Smith) Wischmeier. She married Doug Schwartz and from this union came three beautiful children. Kyler, Avery and Jordan. They were later divorced.
She graduated from Mediapolis High School in 2002.
Sara was currently enrolled at SCC studying graphic design and working part-time at Gators.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Burlington. She was an avid scrap booker and loved playing softball through high school and later in her church league. Sara had such an adventurous spirit, she loved being on the water and going down to Lake of the Ozarks to tube and ski with her family. She also enjoyed paragliding and parachuting from planes. Most of all she loved spending time with her children, attending all of their sporting events, playing Pokemon Go with them and taking them on trips to create so many wonderful memories.
Survivors include her three children at home, Kyler, Avery and Jordan Schwartz; mother, Vicki (Dennis) Wischmeier of Sperry, IA; father, Edward (Linda) Sutcliffe of West Burlington; brother, Mason (Jennifer) Cooper of Waukee, IA, brother, Brett Sutcliffe of Burlington; sister, Lonetta (Jason) Jackson of Danville; step-sister, Julie (Johnny) Burrows of New Carlisle, OH; step-brother, Eddie (Julie) Schulthies of Burlington; step-brother, Jacob (Annalicia) Wischmeier of Ankeny; step-sister, Audra (Bryan) Spears of Oakville; several aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews; and her faithful companion, Darby.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Due to current restrictions, a public celebration of her life will be held at a later date at First United Methodist Church in Burlington. The family appreciates all of your love and support at this time.
A private funeral service for Sara will be held Friday at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Pastor Melisa Bracht-Wagner officiating. Cremation will be entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory following the service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to provide for her children’s education.
