Carthage, Il- The Hancock County Sherriff’s Office has announced the arrest of an Augusta, Illinois man on a warrant charging him with sexual assault.
According to a news release, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday was made aware of allegations regarding repeated sexual abuse by 51-year old David Hiland of Augusta.
An investigation into the matter was conducted and on Monday an arrest warrant was issued for Hiland charging him with two counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault to a Child and two counts of Criminal Sexual Assault.
On Monday, Hancock County Deputies arrested Hiland at his residence in Augusta.
Hiland is currently housed at Hancock County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
