Burlington, Ia- The Burlington City Council has announced they have made a conditional offer of employment to Chad A. Bird of Decorah, Iowa to become Burlington’s next City Manager.
Bird earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Valparaiso University and a Master of Public Administration from Drake University. He has sixteen years’ experience in local government administration, most recently as City Manager of Decorah, Iowa. His first day on the job as Burlington’s new City Manager will be April 5.
The Council selected Bird from a group of three finalists, who went through interviews with City Council, City Staff, and Community leaders in late January. All three finalists were highly qualified individuals of whom were recruited by Hinson Consulting, LLC.
The Council plans to hold a Special Meeting in Council Chambers on February 8 at 4:30 p.m. to officially adopt the Resolution approving Bird’s Employment Agreement.
